Prof. Dr. Jack Nas­her-Awak­emi­an, M.Sc. (Oxford)

Jack Nas­her stu­di­ed and taught at Oxford Uni­ver­si­ty and was a pro­fes­sor at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Oxford from 2010 to 2023. Munich Busi­ness School and guest lec­tu­rer of the Stan­ford Uni­ver­si­ty. Rea­ding peo­p­le and con­vin­cing them — that is his exper­ti­se. He advi­ses com­pa­nies on nego­tia­ti­on issues world­wi­de and heads the NAS­HER Nego­tia­ti­on Insti­tu­te. Nas­her is con­side­red a “lea­ding nego­tia­ti­on expert” (Focus) and “the Pope of Lies” (Süd­deut­sche Zei­tung). His books have been published in the USA, Rus­sia and Chi­na, among other places. He has been a guest on over 100 radio and TV pro­grams.

Care­er

Schoo­ling in Ger­ma­ny, France and the USA was fol­lo­wed by law stu­dies, which he com­ple­ted with honors in Frankfurt/Main. At the same time, he com­ple­ted his stu­dies in phi­lo­so­phy and psy­cho­lo­gy. At Oxford Uni­ver­si­ty, he was Rese­arch Asso­cia­te of Holy­well Man­or at Bal­li­ol Col­lege and com­ple­ted a Mas­ters in Manage­ment Rese­arch at the Saïd Busi­ness School of Oxford Uni­ver­si­ty. At the age of 26, he recei­ved his PhD on Sir Karl Pop­per from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Vien­na. Rese­arch stays at the Euro­pean Par­lia­ment and the Euro­pean Court of Jus­ti­ce were fol­lo­wed by trai­ning posi­ti­ons at the M&A law firm Skad­den Arps and as Assistant Atta­ché for the For­eign Office at the UN in New York.

From 2005–2009, Jack Nas­her taught as a tutor at Oxford Uni­ver­si­ty and con­duc­ted the appli­cant inter­views for the sub­ject Eco­no­mics & Manage­ment. In 2010, he was appoin­ted Pro­fes­sor of Lea­der­ship and Orga­niza­ti­on at Munich Busi­ness School and gave num­e­rous doc­to­ral semi­nars at the Tech­ni­cal Uni­ver­si­ty of Munich.

Prac­ti­ce

Hims­elf a foun­der and inves­tor in cor­po­ra­ti­ons, film, real estate and pri­va­te equi­ty / VCs, Jack Nas­her began trai­ning com­pa­nies in com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons in 2004, focu­sing on nego­tia­ti­on as the inter­sec­tion of busi­ness, psy­cho­lo­gy and law. Sin­ce then, Jack Nas­her has work­ed ste­adi­ly with com­pa­nies in a wide varie­ty of indus­tries, pro­vi­ding them with the latest rese­arch insights and the best prac­ti­ces of the nego­tia­ting world.

Works

Jack Nasher’s books were on the Spie­gel best­sel­ler list for months and have been published in the USA, Rus­sia, India and Chi­na, among other places. Artic­les about him have appeared in the Wall Street Jour­nal, Har­vard Busi­ness Review, Chi­na Times, FAZ and ZEIT, among others. He dona­ted 100 % of his author’s fee of his book “The Sta­te Theo­ry of Karl Pop­per” to Human Rights Watch Ger­ma­ny.

Jack Nas­her regu­lar­ly pres­ents his rese­arch fin­dings at sci­en­ti­fic con­fe­ren­ces and was award­ed the gold medal (“best paper”) at the Inter­na­tio­nal Con­fe­rence on Appli­ed Psy­cho­lo­gy 2016 in Colombo/Sri Lan­ka.

Jack Nas­her is a mem­ber of the Socie­ty of Per­so­na­li­ty & Social Psy­cho­lo­gy and Prin­ci­pal Prac­ti­tio­ner of the Asso­cia­ti­on of Busi­ness Psy­cho­lo­gists. Jack Nas­her advo­ca­tes for pro­fes­sio­nal poli­cy and pre­vai­led in court to allow busi­ness psy­cho­lo­gy gra­dua­tes to qua­li­fy as “Busi­ness Psy­cho­lo­gists” may call.

In his spa­re time Jack Nas­her is main­ly enga­ged in psy­cho­lo­gi­cal illu­si­ons and has had over 80 per­for­man­ces at the Magic Cast­le in Hol­ly­wood / Cali­for­nia.
